BOPLASS has been working with councils to identify effective crime reduction initiatives, particularly with youth crime. Priorities have been identified for improved CCTV, CCTV monitoring services, and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design. The improved infrastructure will provide an opportunity to reduce crime, help identify perpetrators, and ultimately make our communities safer.

The Ministry of Social Development is supporting this work through providing co-funding to support these important crime prevention initiatives and programmes being undertaken by BOP councils.
